How Youth Thrive Network protects the data of young people, families, and communities.

Purpose Limitation

All data collected by Youth Thrive Network is used solely for the purpose of coordinating support for young people. Every data access is logged with a stated purpose. Data is never used for surveillance, profiling, or any purpose beyond support coordination.

Data Minimisation

Only the minimum data necessary to coordinate support is collected. Real identifiers are replaced with one-way hashed anonymous IDs. Youth profiles are consent-scoped and contain only accessibility preferences, communication preferences, and privacy settings — never a detailed personal dossier.

Consent and Control

All participation is opt-in. Young people, families, and community organisations consent to specific services. Consent can be revoked at any time, which triggers immediate data access restrictions. Consent scope and expiry are explicitly recorded and enforced.

Automatic Data Expiry

Every data type has an explicit retention period. Support signals expire within 90 days. Referral cases expire according to configured policies. Youth data is retained for the shortest possible duration. Expired data is automatically purged.

Data Subject Rights

Young people and their families can exercise their data rights: access (see what data is held), erasure (request deletion of all personal data), rectification (correct inaccurate data), and portability (receive data in a portable format). All requests are processed with full audit trails.

Accountability

Every action in the platform is recorded in an immutable audit log. Fairness audits ensure balanced treatment across cohorts. Purpose validation logs track who accessed what data and why. All governance data is accessible to authorised auditors.
